Coding Fun - Feb. 13, 2020

While we are participating in Coding Quest, we have also had the privilege of using a variety of other tools for practicing our coding skills and in particular our ability to think like computers do, be able to break down complex problems into simpler ones and not only solving problems as we encounter them but anticipating problems as well.

We first had University of Calgary Minds in Motion teaching us about programming a spherO to travel a predetermined path.  This opportunity helped us review angles in math as well.
We also had a webinar with KidsCode, where we learned how to code Microbits.  Unfortunately, I did not get a lot of photos, but this was really fun and the students were complimented on how quickly they learned how to do the tasks and how to code Microbits.  We even got to keep the Microbits for our class, so we will likely pull these out again to stretch our understanding further.

Students can continue to try their coding at the following site: https://makecode.microbit.org/#
